Lorna Cobbett

Founder & CEO, Blue John
United Kingdom
Lorna Cobbett is the Founder and CEO of Blue John, a London-based company pioneering GREY, a neuroscience-led people risk intelligence platform that uses AI and reputation data to reveal how people really show up at work. A former investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Citi, Lorna later became UK CEO of a leading strategic communications consultancy, advising global clients across sectors. Two decades working at the intersection of reputation, due diligence, crisis and change taught her a simple truth: the real risk and value inside any organisation lies not just in strategy, but in its people – how they think, behave and lead under pressure, and how they show up every day. That insight drives Blue John’s mission: to help organisations avoid costly wrong hires and unlock human potential. At the heart of Blue John is GREY, a B2B SaaS platform that blends applied neuroscience, AI and reputation insights to deliver People Risk Intelligence. It goes beyond background checks or psychometric tests to reveal behavioural patterns that traditional tools miss. GREY identifies hidden risks (Grey Flags), uncovers untapped potential (Lightning Bolts) and maps Traitmarks® — the behavioural signatures people are known for and trusted to deliver. Unlike conventional assessment tools, GREY looks outward, showing how individuals really operate in teams and cultures. It’s not a test or a personality profile, but a neuroscience-informed lens that brings clarity to the grey areas of the talent lifecycle. Outside of work, Lorna is a fierce advocate for her triplet daughter’s legacy. Essie, who was born severely disabled and life limited, will forever be 18 months old. Lorna works closely with children’s hospice charities, giving a voice to those unable to speak for themselves. Her belief is simple, yet powerful: “Everything for reputation. For reputation is everything.”
