In his role as Chief Innovation and Technology Officer for Cisco’s People, Policy, and Purpose organization, Gianpaolo Barozzi helps Cisco’s 80,000+ global employees experiment, adapt, and transform in an AI-powered workplace. A physicist-turned-HR-leader, Gianpaolo leads the design and development of innovative workforce experiences and solutions. His team is at the forefront of the future of work – identifying trends, anticipating challenges, and exploring their impact on individuals, teams, and leaders. From role redesign to team-based learning, he crafts and tests groundbreaking technologies and experiences, ensuring that Cisco remains a leader in workplace transformation. Over the course of his 20+ years at Cisco, Gianpaolo has held both global and regional roles, including HR Innovation Lead and Chief Learning Officer for Worldwide Sales. His work, which blends technology, science, art, and design, has been recognized globally, from exhibits at Ars Electronica to recognition by the ADI Design Index. Outside Cisco, Gianpaolo serves as Strategic Director for the Department of Innovation Design and the AI Observatory Directory at the Institute of Art and Applied Arts (IAAD) in Italy. He is a practicing optimist and proud father of two young women.
